Narrated Imran ibn Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him). He said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: The best of my Ummah is my Ummah. Then the next generation. Then the next generation. 'Imran (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I do not remember whether he said: two generations or three generations after his generation. Then there will come people who will be eager to testify but will not be asked for their testimony. No one will believe them because of their disbelief. They will make vows but will not fulfill them. They will be fat and obese. -, Bukhari 3650 Narrated Imran ibn Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him). He said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: The best of my Ummah are the people of my generation (the era of the Companions). Then the people of the next generation, then the people of the next generation, then the people of the next generation, after them will come people who will testify but will not be asked for their testimony. They will be treacherous, their trusts will not be trusted. They will swear but will not fulfill them, and arrogance will appear among them. In another narration, it is said that they will swear (in vain) but will not be asked for their oaths.
